Hispanic Ministry – Benjamin Haley
Ben grew up in a small town in central Texas and came to faith in Christ at a young age. From an early age, Ben felt a call to missions and to what God was doing around the world. Upon going to college at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, Ben surrendered to the call of missions.
After graduating from UMHB with a double major in Religion and History in 2000, Ben was a Journeyman in Uganda for 2 years, where he did student ministry. After coming home from Africa, Ben met and married Christine and completed a Master of Arts in Missiology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. Ben has also gone on several missions trips in different parts of the globe and been involved in volunteer ministries.
Mostly recently, Ben and Christine were IMB missionaries in Ecuador for 3 years. Their son, Evan was born there in 2008 and their daughter, Lydia, was born in 2011. The Hispanic congregation that Ben pastors since 2009, meets in the lower level of King Hill Baptist Church on Sundays at 2:30 pm. It is a satellite church for Frederick Boulevard. In his free time, Ben likes watching and playing sports, especially soccer and baseball. Ben also likes the outdoors, reading, travelling (but not flying!), listening to music and hanging out with the family.
